Cookie Cutters

So I thought I'd take pictures of my cookie cutters and list them here.  Obviously, if I don't have something you want, if I'm given enough notice, I'm sure I could order one or find it locally and most likely I'd be more than happy to purchase it (unless it's some really strangely expensive one or something :-p) so I can make you the perfect cookies for your occasion.

Here are my standard cutters (2.5-3.5 inches).

Cowboy hat, cowboy boot, gingerbread man, star, moon
Easter bunny, tulip, butterfly, scaredy cat
Shamrock, purse, another butterfly, bat
Heart, flower, scalloped diamond, pumpkin
House, letter C, letter M, some shape that I don't know, and below that a circle
Another heart, high heel, umbrella, Texas

So I completely forgot about the ones I just bought this weekend, so I had to take a second picture...
Cactus, apple, circle, sheriff badge or Star of David
Fire truck
Champagne/wine glass, sheep, football, ice cream cone
(A couple of those I need to measure as they may be in the large category)

Here are my large cutters (4-5 inches).

Snowflake, Frankenstein, pumpkin
Star, apple, sun
Christmas tree, maple leaf, another pumpkin
Saw & hammer, square, shamrock
flower, egg, moon

Also, not pictured because I'm a dummy and don't have all of my cutters together - a large butterfly and some hearts (one with straight edges & one with scalloped).  I don't feel like taking ANOTHER photo, so just know they exist :)

Here are my mini cutters (1-1.5 inches)

pumpkin, flower, tulip
apple, leaf, heart, star

Also, I have discovered that there is a block aTm cookie cutter that exists.  I found out that the person bought it at one of the tent sales in College Station on either a football weekend or a parents weekend...sooooo if you happen upon this, PLEASE buy it for me :)  I must have it!  I will pay you back for it, and make you a few cookies with it for your troubles :)

I'm sure I will be adding to this as I make more cookies, so I will try to update you when I get new cutters in case there is one that you just have to have me make for you ;-) Ha!

I'm still here!

Don't worry, I haven't given up on my idea.  I'm actually about to be pretty busy the next few weeks with cookies.  I've got plans for at least 3 different sets of cookies.  I'm super excited!  I'm also hoping to find some time to try some cupcake design ideas, as I wouldn't mind starting to do those as well.  We'll see though!

In other news, thanks to friends/Facebook, I think I have a name/slogan for my confections :)  I'm also super lucky to have a brother-in-law that is an awesome artist and does graphic design stuff, so he's working on a little logo thing for me.  I'm going to wait to share it until he's finished with the design so I can share it all at once.  But know that is coming!

I also think I've worked out some pricing.  I really tried very hard to stay reasonable, but also account for the amount of time that these cookies take.  From all of the research I've done, mine will be priced below anything you can find.  Since I'm a beginner, that's only fair, but I am also one that loves a good bargain, so hopefully you will love the cookies and feel like you are getting a great bargain at the same time :)  If you are interested in knowing more about this, send me an email (confectionsofanaggie at gmail dot com) or leave a comment below with your email.

Anyway, just wanted to update so you don't think the fire has burnt out ;-)  I'm super excited about all that is coming in the next few weeks.  Hopefully it goes smoothly!  Pictures will follow as soon as I can get them taken, downloaded & posted.  I should have one batch done by the weekend, so be sure to check back :)

Welcome to the Confections of an Aggie!

Right now I've got a cookie making obsession, and an itch to try some other fun treats, so I thought I'd start a blog to document it.  I'm also the proudest member of the Fightin' Texas Aggie Class of 2006, hence the title of the blog :)  I'm not sure where it will take me, or how long it will last, but I know that it will taste really good along the way - ha! :)

It all started when my sweet friend, Tracy, made some adorable cookies for a baby shower.  Once I tasted them, I KNEW I had to know how to make them.  She was so gracious that she hosted a cookie making party for those of us at the shower that wanted to learn how.  Once this happened, it turned from being something I wanted to try to an obsession.  I went home, and immediately (well immediately after my son went down for his nap) started icing the cookies I had baked prior to the "party."  I got a little frustrated with myself because they didn't turn out as nice as I would have liked, but after realizing it was my first time to attempt it, I was pretty proud of myself.  They also tasted DELICIOUS!

Would you like to see them?  No?  Well, this is my blog, so you get to see them anyway :)

Then, I think maybe a week later, I made some for my friend, Erica's, son, Nate's, 3rd birthday party.  He is a very special little boy to me, and I was excited to make him some cookies.  He was having a Cars birthday party so I made some to go with the theme.  They turned out better than my first batch, but still not as perfect as I'd like.  I'm going to make you look at more pictures (although, I guess I technically can't make you, you could always not read the rest of the post - ha!).

Then, as if that isn't enough to prove to you that I'm a little obsessed - just for the heck of it, I decided to make some super cute cookies for St. Patrick's Day.

So far, those are the only creations I've made, but I have lots of plans for the future.  I really love this!  I have spent HOURS searching for different ideas, and reading other blogs/websites for other tips/techniques to help improve my abilities.

So if you like what you see, and want to know more about possibly having me make some for you, send me an email - confectionsofanaggie at gmail dot com.  Obviously, the "at" and "dot" are supposed to be the symbols for those, with no spaces, but I don't want to end up with a bunch of spam, so I did not want to write the actual email.  Also, feel free to leave a comment with your contact info if you would rather not email me :)

Well, I'm off to dream about more sweet ideas! (haha - get it?!  I know, I know - cheesy! :-p)
